CHRICED Set To Unveil Legacy House, Marks 20 Years Of Citizen Advocacy

For citizens whose voices often go unheard, the fight for justice, accountability and equal rights has taken another significant step, as the Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education (CHRICED) prepares to open its Legacy House in Kano.

The organisation will officially unveil the facility on Thursday, November 5, 2026, marking a major milestone in its 20-year journey of promoting human rights, strengthening civic participation and empowering citizens.

With just 48 hours to the ceremony, CHRICED says the new facility represents two decades of perseverance, advocacy and commitment to building a society where citizens’ voices matter and democratic institutions work for everyone.

The unveiling is part of activities marking the organisation’s 20th anniversary, celebrated under the theme, “20 Years of Voice & Justice: Empowering Citizens, Shaping Tomorrow.”

The Legacy House is expected to serve as a lasting symbol of the organisation’s work and its commitment to advancing citizen engagement, human rights and democratic accountability.

In a countdown message ahead of the event, CHRICED described the development as the beginning of a new chapter, inviting stakeholders and members of the public to join the historic occasion in Kano.

For an organisation that has spent two decades championing citizens’ rights and democratic values, the opening of the Legacy House signals a renewed commitment to sustaining that mission.

The ceremony is scheduled for November 5, 2026, in Kano.
