Digital Boost For 700+ MDAs: NITDA Trains FCC Staff, Donates 35 Laptops

As Nigeria pushes deeper into digital governance, capacity building is fast becoming the backbone of public sector reform.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has strengthened its partnership with the Federal Character Commission (FCC), training staff and donating 35 laptops to accelerate digital transformation across government institutions.

The three-day Digital Skills Training, held in Abuja from 23 to 25 February 2026, brought together 35 participants from key FCC-supervised departments, including Human Resources, Planning and Strategy, Monitoring and Enforcement, and the Management Information System unit.

NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, had earlier paid a courtesy visit to FCC Executive Chairman, Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, reaffirming both agencies’ commitment to modernising public service delivery.

Omidiran described the training as critical to repositioning the Commission and over 700 Ministries, Departments and Agencies under its supervision for improved transparency and accountability.

Participants said the workshop enhanced their capacity to analyse and visualise data, including the use of Artificial Intelligence to strengthen operations.

At the close of the programme, NITDA presented 35 laptops to participants to support practical implementation, a move both agencies say signals sustained collaboration in driving digital efficiency across the public sector.
