Akwa Ibom Begins 2026 With Thanksgiving As Lady Obareki Joins Covenant Service In Uyo
Akwa Ibom State has stepped into the new year with a powerful expression of gratitude and faith, reaffirming its reliance on divine guidance as 2026 unfolds.
The Coordinator of the Office of the Akwa Ibom State First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, joined government officials and residents at the Special Inter-Denominational New Year Thanksgiving and Covenant Service held at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo.
The service, organised by the Akwa Ibom State Government to usher in the new year, was themed “The God of all flesh.” During the worship session, Lady Obareki read the thanksgiving scripture from Psalm 34:1–10, underscoring the importance of gratitude and trust in God.
Moments of thanksgiving were led by different clusters of Akwa Ibom people, with the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, spearheading the collective offering of praise.
The service was further enriched by an inspiring sermon delivered by Apostle Joshua Selman, which charged worshippers to commit the new year into God’s hands.
The gathering reflected Akwa Ibom’s enduring culture of unity, faith and collective hope for a prosperous and peaceful 2026.
