Gov Eno Urges Akwa Ibom Youths To Embrace Self-Development, Sustain Peace Ahead Of 2027
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has charged youths in the state to prioritise self-development and actively protect the peace and unity that have remained the hallmark of his administration.
The Governor gave the charge during a breakfast meeting with the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Akwa Ibom State chapter, where he stressed that youth empowerment remains a deliberate and strategic focus of his government.
Governor Eno explained that the establishment of a separate Ministry of Youth Development was designed to give clear direction to youth-centred policies, programmes and interventions.
He highlighted ongoing investments in training and empowerment through platforms such as the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC) and the Ibom Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development Centre (Ibom-LED).
He urged young people across the state to take full advantage of the numerous opportunities available for personal growth and collective progress, warning against actions capable of disrupting the prevailing peace.

Also speaking, the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, reminded the youths that they are leaders in their own right, describing the youth council as a breeding ground for future leadership.
A former National Vice Chairman of the NYCN, Uwah commended Governor Eno for his youth-friendly appointments and empowerment initiatives, urging continued law-abiding conduct to sustain these gains.
