Northern Nigeria Minorities Group Hails Nigeria At 65, Urges Unity and Renewed Commitment

The Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG) has congratulated the Federal Republic of Nigeria and its citizens on the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, calling for renewed faith in the Nigerian project.

In a statement signed by its Convener, Chief Jacob Edi, the group described the anniversary as a moment for reflection on Nigeria’s resilience and unity despite decades of challenges.

The NNMG paid tribute to the nation’s founding fathers and past leaders, while also commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as his courage and vision in tackling difficult national issues.

“As we celebrate 65 years of independence, we must not forget that what has held us together is far greater than the forces that seek to divide us.

Our diversity, resilience, and shared hope remain the major ingredients of the Nigerian spirit,” the group said.

The NNMG urged Nigerians to remain purpose-driven, united, and committed to building a country that fulfils the aspirations of its founding fathers
