REC Commends NYSC INEC Ambassadors As Voter Registration Sensitisation Begins In Gombe
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Gombe State, Dr Sa’ad Umar Idris, has applauded members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving as INEC Ambassadors for their commitment to educating citizens on the electoral process.
Dr Idris gave the commendation on Thursday, 18 September 2025, during the flag-off of sensitisation activities for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) at the Commission’s state office.
He described the corps members’ efforts as “selfless service” that demonstrates how an enlightened electorate can strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.
The sensitisation campaign, according to the REC, will include road shows, market outreaches across all 11 local government areas, engagements in worship centres, and voter enlightenment programmes on radio.
Immediately after the flag-off, INEC staff and the Ambassadors stormed major streets in the state capital, engaging residents and distributing flyers to raise awareness about the CVR exercise.
