NECO Releases 2025 SSCE Results, Records 60% Pass Rate

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE Internal) results, showing a 60.26 per cent pass rate in core subjects including Mathematics and English.

Announcing the results in Minna, Niger State, NECO Registrar, Prof. Ibrahim Wushishi, revealed that out of 1,358,339 candidates who sat for the June/July examinations, 818,492 secured five credits and above, including English and Mathematics.

A total of 1,144,496 candidates, representing 84.26 per cent, achieved five credits and above irrespective of the two core subjects.

Wushishi disclosed that 1,367,210 candidates registered for the exam, comprising 685,514 males and 681,696 females, with 1,358,339 eventually sitting for the test.

He also highlighted a significant drop in examination malpractice cases, 3,878 compared to 10,094 in 2024, representing a 61.58 per cent reduction.

Candidates with special needs numbered 1,622, including 941 with hearing impairments and 191 with visual impairments.

The 2025 SSCE was conducted nationwide from 16th June to 25th July.
