WAEC Urges Students To Recheck 2025 WASSCE Results After Technical Glitch

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has apologised to candidates over errors discovered in the recently released 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.

In a statement issued on Thursday, 7 August, by its Acting Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina, WAEC revealed that technical issues linked to new anti-exam malpractice measures such as ‘paper serialisation’ in key subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics affected the accuracy of some scores.

The Council has temporarily suspended access to the results portal to correct the anomalies and is urging all candidates who have already checked their results to do so again within 24 hours once the updates are made.

Adesina assured that the issue would be resolved promptly and transparently, reaffirming WAEC’s commitment to fairness and excellence. “We regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate the patience and understanding of our candidates and the public,” she said.
