The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and ground troops have recorded another major breakthrough in the fight against insurgency, neutralising more than 30 terrorists in a coordinated operation at Dar Jamel, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

The operation, carried out on 5 September, followed reports of heavy terrorist engagement against friendly forces.

Responding swiftly, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai launched an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Air Interdiction mission.

On arrival, aircrew confirmed the presence of friendly forces before spotting insurgents fleeing northwards. In three successive and precise strikes, the terrorists were neutralised, paving the way for reinforcements on the ground to secure the area.

The successful joint mission, which underscores the synergy between air and land operations, has been hailed as a decisive blow to insurgents in the North East. The NAF reassured Nigerians of its continued commitment, alongside sister services, to dismantle terrorist networks and restore lasting peace.
