NAF Lights Up Ogun Community With Solar Power and Water Project
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has delivered a major boost to Anipupo Community in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State with the commissioning of solar-powered streetlights and a key water supply project.
The initiative, unveiled on 26 August 2025 in honour of Air Vice Marshal Abidemi Timothy Marquis, includes 30 solar streetlights, an industrial borehole, and a 35,000-litre water storage system.
Representing the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, at the ceremony, Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola said the project reflects NAF’s determination to strengthen civil-military relations and improve rural livelihoods.
He noted that “lighting up communities and providing clean water” goes beyond security operations, as it fosters trust, cooperation, and intelligence-sharing vital to national stability.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr Ola Oresanya, hailed the project as “a shining example of partnership that transforms lives,” praising both the NAF leadership and AVM Marquis for their contributions to grassroots development.
Community leaders and residents welcomed the intervention, which they described as a turning point for Anipupo.
