FG Pledges Timely Completion Of Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway
The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to completing Section Three of the 61-kilometre Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway in record time.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, gave the assurance during an inspection tour in Enugu as part of the government’s South-East Citizens’ Engagement programme.
He stressed that modern road infrastructure was critical to economic growth, public safety, and citizens’ welfare, describing the project as “a visible testament to the government’s resolve to complete strategic highways nationwide.
The ₦100.8 billion dual carriageway, being constructed by CGC Nigeria Limited, covers a total of 122 kilometres.
According to the Director of Highways (South-East), Engineer Tony Mbiko, the Enugu-bound section has been completed, with work ongoing on the remaining stretch.
