Labour Minister Urges RATTAWU to Champion Government Achievements
Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment has called on members of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers’ Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) to use their platforms to promote the achievements of the Tinubu-led administration, while assuring them of the government’s commitment to securing their entitlements.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the RATTAWU President and his delegation, the Minister emphasised the role of media and cultural workers in informing and educating the public on government efforts to improve citizens’ lives.
He pledged that the administration would continue to prioritise their welfare.
Earlier, RATTAWU President appealed for support in introducing a special salary structure for radio, television, theatre arts and cultural workers, noting that they often work during holidays and remain unsung heroes despite their vital role in shaping public narratives.
The delegation also visited the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, who described the union’s new leader as a detribalised Nigerian and unifier.
She dismissed rumours of bribery influencing the government’s cordial ties with the labour movement, stressing that the relationship is anchored on understanding and dialogue.
