APC Fires Back At El-Rufai Over Criticism Of Tinubu’s Administration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has come down hard on former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, following his scathing remarks about President Bola Tinubu’s government, describing his comments as “infantile politics” and “rants of an inconsolable sulker.”

In a strongly worded statement issued on Monday, 4 August, 2025, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, accused El-Rufai of throwing political tantrums after his unsuccessful bid to become a minister.

The party said the former governor’s attack on Tinubu’s leadership at a Sokoto gathering was “mischievous, hollow, and borne out of selfish ambition.”

“El-Rufai and his partners in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are the most confused and clueless opposition politicians our country has ever known,” Morka said. “They bring nothing to the table except oversized egos and a wild sense of entitlement.”

The statement highlighted the government’s achievements under Tinubu’s watch, including rising oil production, increased power generation, a booming stock market, and the controversial but widely discussed fuel subsidy removal policy.

According to the APC, El-Rufai’s allegations of poor governance, clannishness, and failed leadership do not align with the “verifiable progress” being made in the country.

The party also defended Tinubu’s track record as inclusive and detribalised, accusing El-Rufai of projecting his own divisive legacy from Kaduna onto the federal government.

The APC further criticised the ADC’s alleged attempt to impose former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as a presidential candidate in 2027, calling it a threat to Nigeria’s unity and the principle of power rotation.

The ruling party expressed confidence that Nigerians would renew President Tinubu’s mandate in 2027, praising what it described as “the most outstanding first-term record of any President in our nation’s history.”
