APC Hails Rivers State LGA Election Victory, Dismisses Atiku’s Allegations
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has thanked the people of Rivers State for what it described as an overwhelming endorsement in Saturday’s local government elections, where the party secured 20 out of 23 chairmanship seats.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the outcome reflected strong public confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also commended party leaders, members, the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and transparent exercise.
The party urged newly elected officials to work harder to deliver governance that benefits the grassroots.
On the controversy surrounding the polls, the APC dismissed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s allegations of irregularities as “baseless” and “incendiary.”
Morka said Atiku’s comments were a diversion from his party’s “miserable no-show” in the election and an attempt to stoke tension.
“We trust Rivers people to reject Atiku’s incitement to strife and instability as an unwise counsel of a forlorn serial presidential contender,” the APC stated.
The party pledged to continue working with Rivers people to build a stronger and more united state.
