Super Falcons Are Nigeria’s Strongest Ambassadors – Odumegwu-Ojukwu
Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has hailed the Super Falcons as the nation’s strongest ambassadors, following their historic triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
In a heartfelt message released after their dramatic comeback win over hosts Morocco on Saturday night, Odumegwu-Ojukwu praised the team for embodying the indomitable Nigerian spirit and bringing pride to the nation once again.
“You have once again made us proud,” she said. “Despite the early setback, you showed true character, discipline, and resilience qualities that define champions. You dominated the second half with poise and silenced a roaring home crowd.”
With their latest victory, the Super Falcons have now secured a record 10th WAFCON title, further cementing their status as Africa’s most successful women’s football team.
Before the final, the Minister had shared a viral video cheering the team on, calling them “formidable, indisputable, and the strongest ambassadors of the nation.”
Reflecting on their win, she added, “You are our immutable ambassadors. Thank you for once again making Nigeria proud.”
