Police Neutralise Three Bandits, Recover 10 AK-47 Rifles In Coordinated Operations
The Nigeria Police Force has scored another major victory in its fight against violent crime, neutralising three armed bandits and recovering ten AK-47 rifles in a string of intelligence-led operations across five states.
In a statement, the Force revealed that the successful operations were carried out by its Intelligence Response Team (IRT) across Taraba, Plateau, Adamawa, Nassarawa, and Niger States during the month of July.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the bandits were gunned down during gunfire exchanges after they attempted to flee upon sighting operatives.
Several others escaped with gunshot wounds, abandoning a cache of weapons linked to kidnappings, armed robbery, gunrunning, and cattle rustling.
Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing members of the syndicate, believed to be behind recent deadly attacks in the affected states.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to protecting lives and property, promising to sustain the crackdown on criminal elements through strategic, intelligence-driven operations.
He urged citizens to continue supporting the police by reporting suspicious activities through official channels or nearby police formations.
