No Room for Bribes: FRSC Warns Motorists To Pay Fines Through Banks

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has issued a clear warning to motorists across the country, to stop offering bribes to road safety officials and pay your fines through approved bank channels.

Speaking in Abuja, the Corps Marshal stressed that bribery, financial inducements, or any form of gratification offered to FRSC operatives is strictly prohibited and will be met with prosecution under the FRSC Establishment Act of 2007.

“We have zero tolerance for bribery and corruption,” he said. “Any motorist caught attempting to bribe our personnel will be arrested and prosecuted. Likewise, any of our operatives demanding bribes will face strict disciplinary action.”

He reminded the public that all fines must be paid into the Treasury Single Account (TSA) through designated banks — not into the pockets of individuals. This, he said, ensures transparency and accountability in the system.

Motorists are also encouraged to report any FRSC official caught demanding bribes through the official email address (info@frsc.gov.ng), the FRSC Mobile App, the Flag-It anti-corruption app, or any of the Corps’ social media platforms.

While reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to professionalism and integrity, the Corps Marshal commended Nigerians who have consistently reported misconduct without resorting to confrontation, urging others to follow suit.

The Marshal gave a clear message, obey traffic rules, pay fines the right way, and help build a safer, corruption-free road culture in Nigeria.
