West Africa Economic Summit: President Tinubu’s Special Envoy Receives Warm Welcome from Côte d’Ivoire’s President
In a bid to foster regional economic unity, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Special Envoy on the upcoming West Africa Economic Summit (WAES), Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, is in Côte d’Ivoire, where she was warmly received by President Alassane Ouattara.
At the high-level meeting at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan, Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu delivered a formal letter from President Tinubu, inviting President Ouattara to attend the inaugural WAES, scheduled for 20–21 June in Abuja.
the Special Envoy, accompanied by a seasoned diplomatic team which include Ambassadors Sola Enikanolaiye, John Ejinaka, and Ahmed Sule emphasised Nigeria’s readiness to host key leaders from across the region in what is expected to be a defining moment for West African cooperation.
She noted that the summit, themed “Unlocking Trade and Investment Opportunities in the Region”, aims to chart a fresh path towards economic sovereignty through sustainable development and strategic integration.
President Ouattara hailed the initiative as timely and vital, expressing his support for regional collaboration and commended President Tinubu’s leadership for driving such agenda that would lead to unprecedented economic growth on West Africa.
