WHO, TY Danjuma Foundation Seal Groundbreaking Health Deal To Boost Maternal, Child Care In Nigeria

In a powerful show of collaboration and commitment to improving Nigeria’s health sector, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the TY Danjuma Foundation (TYDF) have signed a historic partnership agreement to strengthen primary healthcare and tackle maternal and child health challenges across the country.

Speaking at the UN House in Abuja, WHO’s Country Representative, Dr Walter Kazadi described the alliance as a model for local philanthropy driving national health priorities.

According to him, this partnership reflects the shared goal of building a healthier, more equitable world and offers a bold new path for local resource mobilisation in Africa.

The Coordinating Minister of Health, Prof. Ali Pate, represented by Dr Godwin Ntadom, commended the initiative, noting its alignment with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

He said the collaboration would help revive the country’s primary healthcare system, improve access, and ultimately save lives especially among women and children.

With both local and global momentum behind it, this partnership is being hailed as a turning point for Nigeria’s health future and a call to action for others to become partners
