Tinubu’s Two-Year Track Record Shows Bold, Visionary Leadership – Minister Idris
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s two-year performance in office, describing it as a bold display of visionary leadership that is already reshaping Nigeria’s future.
Speaking at the maiden National Dialogue on Citizen Engagement and National Security in Abuja on Tuesday, Idris declared:
“No administration in our democratic history has delivered such sweeping reforms in such a short time.”
From ending the controversial fuel subsidy and dismantling the foreign exchange racket, to rolling out a student loan scheme, establishing CreditCorp, and investing heavily in infrastructure, the Minister said the Tinubu administration is taking decisive steps that many before it only tiptoed around.
He also pointed to recent signs of economic recovery: food prices easing, insecurity being curbed, and a renewed focus on local governance and agriculture, especially with the creation of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development.
“This government met a storm, but it’s charting a new course,” Idris said. “The results are beginning to show.”
The forum themed “One Voice, One Vision: Uniting Perspectives for a Stronger Nigeria”, spearheaded by the Voice of Nigeria (VON) – brought together government officials, civil society, media, and security stakeholders to explore how trust and unity can bolster national security.
The Minister warned, without trust, there’s no unity. And without unity, national security becomes an illusion,” stressing that the Renewed Hope Agenda puts people at the heart of governance.
He also commended VON for going beyond news delivery to shaping national conversations in Nigeria’s many languages – from Berlin to Birnin Kebbi.
“We don’t need to all be the same to be united,” he said. “This dialogue is proof that our differences, if embraced, can become our greatest strength.”
According to a statement by the Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Rabiu Ibrahim, among key attendees at the event include the Defence Chief General Christopher Musa, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, ex-Army Chief Gen. Tukur Buratai, and heads of key federal agencies.
