Nigerian Military Sustains Momentum Against Terrorism, Oil Theft

The Armed Forces of Nigeria have reported notable gains in their ongoing operations across the country, with terrorists neutralised, kidnapped victims rescued, and major oil theft syndicates dismantled.
In its latest weekly briefing, the military confirmed the destruction of 22 illegal refining sites and the seizure of stolen crude and illegally refined products worth over ₦168 million in the Niger Delta region.
Eighteen oil thieves were arrested, and large quantities of arms and ammunition were recovered.
In the North-East, scores of terrorists, men, women, and children surrendered to troops under Operation HADIN KAI.
Offensive operations across Borno and Yobe states led to the rescue of kidnapped victims and the recovery of weapons, motorcycles, and explosive devices.
Operations in the North-West and North-Central also yielded successes.
In Zamfara, Sokoto, and Katsina States, troops rescued dozens of hostages and arrested suspected terrorist collaborators.
In Plateau and Kaduna, several extremists were neutralised, and over 20 suspects linked to kidnapping and other crimes were apprehended.
Troops operating in the South-East under Operation UDO KA arrested extremists and rescued four kidnap victims in Anambra and Enugu States.
Similarly, in the South-South, eight criminals were arrested and a truck laden with natural gas was recovered in Rivers and Delta States.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, commended the gallantry of the troops and urged citizens to continue providing credible information.
He reaffirmed the military’s commitment to restoring peace and stability across the country.
“The Armed Forces remain focused on defeating terrorism and criminality,” he said, “and we will not relent in our duty to protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.”
