For a nation that has weathered political storms and military interludes, Nigeria’s 25 years of unbroken democracy is a milestone worth documenting.

It is in recognition of the significance of this journey, that the Federal Government has pledged support for a film documentary that will capture the country’s democratic evolution.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this commitment while receiving the leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Abuja.

He lauded the initiative, describing it as a vital historical record that would celebrate Nigeria’s democratic progress, acknowledge its challenges, and draw lessons for the future.

“The government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in support of healthy political competition, as democracy thrives on constructive opposition and collaboration beyond elections,” Idris stated.

He emphasised the need for unity among political parties in strengthening national development.

IPAC National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, revealed that the documentary would highlight key advancements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education, while also serving as an educational resource for young Nigerians, particularly Generation Z.

The film, featuring top Nollywood stars and produced with cutting-edge technology, aims to meet global standards.

With the government’s backing, this documentary is set to become a defining chronicle of Nigeria’s democratic resilience, offering future generations a glimpse into the nation’s political evolution.
