The Nigeria Police Force has intensified its crackdown on organised crime, rescuing 16 victims from human traffickers and kidnappers in separate operations in Kaduna and Ogun States.
In Kaduna, operatives arrested three suspected traffickers—Samson Peter (25), Haruna Duniya (45), and Abdulazaq Olawole (58)—on January 31 while attempting to transport 13 victims to Oyo State in an unmarked vehicle.
The victims were rescued, and investigations are ongoing.
Similarly, in Ogun State, police operatives stormed a kidnappers’ den on January 29, engaged them in a fierce gun battle that neutralised five suspects.
Three kidnapped victims were successfully rescued, and security forces recovered arms, N5.2 million cash, and the victims’ stolen vehicles.
The Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, praised the officers for their bravery and reaffirmed the force’s commitment to eliminating criminal activities nationwide.
