Nigeria Joins BRICS As A Partner Country

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially accepted an invitation to join BRICS as a partner country, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s pursuit of global economic collaboration.
This partnership positions Nigeria to benefit from enhanced trade, investment, energy security, and infrastructure development with BRICS member nations, which represent some of the world’s leading emerging economies.
The move also aligns with Nigeria’s vision for inclusive growth, regional integration, and active participation in global economic governance.
With a focus on advancing shared goals in technology, climate change, and socio-economic cooperation, Nigeria’s engagement with BRICS underscores its commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening international partnerships.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed optimism about the partnership, emphasising its alignment with Nigeria’s strategic priorities and aspirations for a fairer global economic order.
