In a bid to ensure national security during the yuletide, Nigerian troops have ramped up operations across various theatres of war.
High-profile terrorists Hamisu Sale (aka Master) and Abubakar Muhammad were apprehended in the North Central, providing vital intelligence on terrorist networks.
Similarly, in the Northwest, notorious terror leader Bako Wurgi, linked to the murder of a Sokoto monarch and allied with wanted terrorist Bello Turji, was arrested but succumbed to injuries sustained during a firefight.
Within the past week, the military neutralised 212 terrorists, arrested 272 suspects, and rescued 152 kidnapped victims.
In the fight against oil theft, troops recovered crude oil and products worth over N1.19 billion, destroyed 61 illegal refineries, and confiscated numerous weapons and ammunition.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, emphasised the military’s commitment to sustainable peace, urging citizens to report suspicious activities under the “See Something, Say Something” initiative.
The military’s decisive actions are a strong message to those threatening Nigeria’s peace and stability.
