64th Independence Day: Embrace Safe Driving, Avoid Reckless Behaviors – Corps Marshal Shehu Tells Motorists

As Nigeria prepares to celebrate its 64th Independence Day, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has called on motorists to prioritise safety and maintain responsible driving habits.

Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed who stressed the importance of positive driving behavior and strict adherence to traffic regulations, so as to ensure smooth traffic flow and protect lives during this significant celebration highlighted the joy and pride surrounding Nigeria’s Independence festivities,

The Corps Marshal emphasised the need for a crash-free celebration. “We understand how deeply our nation values its independence, and the FRSC is fully committed to ensuring that everyone celebrates safely and responsibly,” he said.

Mohammed urged all road users to exercise caution and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents, assuring the public that FRSC has deployed all necessary resources to maintain order on the roads. “I have instructed Commanding Officers across the country to fully mobilize personnel and logistics to ensure high visibility, remove any obstructions, and manage traffic efficiently,” he added.

To ensure swift responses in case of emergencies, the Corps Marshal encouraged the public to make use of the FRSC’s toll-free number, 122, or the FRSC Mobile App, for immediate assistance in the event of accidents, road blockages, or other incidents.

As the nation gears up for this milestone celebration, Mohammed wished all Nigerians a safe and joyous Independence Day, reminding motorists to remain vigilant and responsible behind the wheel. “Let’s work together to ensure that this Independence Day is not only memorable but also free of road mishaps,” he concluded.
