Troops Rescue Two Abducted Victims After Terrorist Attack In Zamfara

Two people abducted by terrorists along the Anka-Gadan Manya Road in Zamfara State have been rescued after troops launched a rapid response to the attack.

The victims were travelling on a motorcycle when armed terrorists attacked them on September 4, 2026, in Anka Local Government Area.

Troops from Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, who were conducting a routine patrol nearby, reportedly spotted the attackers and moved immediately to the scene.

The military said the intervention forced the terrorists to flee into the surrounding terrain, abandoning their victims, who were subsequently secured by the troops.

Following the incident, security forces intensified patrols and other operations along the route and surrounding communities to prevent further attacks and restrict the movement of terrorists and other criminal elements.

The military said the sustained patrols are part of ongoing efforts under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to protect communities, secure major routes, and restore freedom of movement across affected areas of Zamfara State.

The rescue highlights the importance of rapid military response and proactive patrols in preventing attacks from escalating into mass abductions.
