TCN Moves To Restore Kainji-Birnin Kebbi 330kV Line As Emergency Tower Arrives
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says restoration work on the collapsed 330kV Kainji–Birnin Kebbi transmission line has reached a critical stage, with an Emergency Restoration System (ERS) tower now at the affected site in Yauri, Kebbi State.
TCN said the collapsed T367 tower has been completely dismantled and decommissioned, while the conductors and skywire have been aligned and prepared for the next phase of the restoration.
The ERS tower is ready for installation, after which engineers will proceed with cable stringing and other associated works needed to restore the line.
The company said its engineers and technical personnel remain on site and are working to complete the repairs and restore normal bulk power transmission as soon as possible.
TCN thanked electricity consumers and other stakeholders affected by the incident for their patience and understanding.
