NDLEA Arrests Fleeing Celebrity Drug Kingpin, Seizes N39bn Cocaine Consignment
A cocaine shipment worth an estimated N39 billion has been intercepted as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) dismantled a major drug trafficking cartel with links to Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
The agency said it arrested the CEO of KC Luxury Group, described as a fleeing celebrity drug kingpin, alongside his associates in Lagos and the UK.
NDLEA operatives also recovered large quantities of cocaine, cash in euros and pounds, luxury jewellery and vehicles during the operation, according to the agency.
The arrests and seizures, the NDLEA said, followed intelligence-led investigations targeting the cartel and its international trafficking network.
The development underscores the growing scale of transnational drug trafficking operations involving Nigeria, with traffickers using legitimate-looking businesses and international connections to move illicit consignments.
NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), disclosed the operation in a statement.
