Nigeria Pushes For More Hungary Scholarships
Eleven Nigerian students are currently studying at Hungary’s University of Dunaújváros, with six benefiting from the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme, as Nigeria steps up efforts to secure more overseas educational opportunities for its youths.
The Nigerian Embassy in Hungary is pursuing expanded access to the programme following a visit to the university by a delegation led by Ambassador Abasi Braimah Ogwime.
The delegation met with university officials, led by Vice-Rector for Institutional Development and General Affairs, Dr Mónika Rajcsányi-Molnár, who briefed them on international degree programmes, scholarship opportunities and support services for foreign students.
The team also toured laboratories and other facilities, interacting with lecturers and Nigerian students to learn about their academic experiences.
Most of the Nigerian students at the institution are studying Computer Engineering, while others are enrolled in Business Administration and Management, as well as Communication and Media Science.
The embassy said the visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and widen access to Hungary’s scholarship opportunities for Nigerian students.
