APC Unveils Heavyweight Campaign Council For Ekiti Governorship Poll

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is signalling a high-stakes approach to the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, assembling a formidable campaign structure that cuts across political, legislative and grassroots leadership in a bid to retain its influence in the South-West.

The ruling party, has constituted a 102-member National Campaign Council for the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election, bringing together serving governors, senior party leaders, federal lawmakers and key political strategists to drive its campaign efforts.

According to the list released by the party, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, will chair the council, while Senate President Godswill Akpabio serves as Vice Chairman.

The council also features a wide array of influential figures, including governors, former governors, ministers and party stalwarts from across the country.

The APC also established specialised sub-committees covering election planning, finance, mobilisation, logistics, media, security, women and youth engagement, reflecting a comprehensive strategy aimed at strengthening grassroots support and ensuring effective campaign coordination ahead of the poll.

The campaign structure, signed by APC National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, underscores the party’s determination to mount a robust campaign as preparations gather momentum for the Ekiti governorship contest.
