TCN Women Urged To Lead With Confidence And Professional Excellence

Female staff of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) have been encouraged to elevate their professional presence through confidence, discipline, and continuous self-improvement, as part of efforts to strengthen their influence across the organisation.

The charge was delivered by Mrs Abiodun Afolabi Fadahunsi, Executive Director of Human Resources and Corporate Services, during TCN’s maiden all-female staff meeting held at its headquarters in Abuja on 28 April 2026.

She described professional presence as a daily demonstration of competence, credibility, and character, urging women to speak with clarity and confidence in every setting, from control rooms to management meetings.

“Enhancing our professional presence is not about competition, but about strengthening our collective impact,” she said, stressing that excellence and reliability must remain non-negotiable.

The meeting featured a range of expert insights aimed at empowering female staff across technical and administrative roles.

The General Manager, Legal and Company Secretary, Mrs Fatima Muhtar, underscored the importance of corporate appearance, noting that a polished and professional look can shape perception and open doors.

Health and wellbeing also toowell-beingstage, with General Manager, Medical, Dr Agatha Edet-Ademiluyi, highlighting the link between healthy habits and productivity.

She urged staff to prioritise balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and stress management to prevent burnout.

Other speakers reinforced key workplace values, including respect, transparency, accountability, and security consciousness, elements seen as essential to building strong professional relationships and sustaining organisational integrity.

The maiden gathering signals TCN’s broader commitment to gender inclusion and professional excellence, positioning its female workforce as a vital force in driving the nation’s power sector forward.
