International Women’s Day: RATTAWU President Hails Women As Pillars Of The Union

Women remain the backbone of many institutions, often driving progress quietly but powerfully behind the scenes.

As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, the President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu, has paid glowing tribute to the women of the union for their resilience, dedication and impact.

In a message marking the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration, Kalu described the women of RATTAWU as the “heartbeat of the union,” acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the growth and strength of the organisation.

Aligning with this year’s global theme, #GiveToGain, he encouraged members to continue uplifting one another, advocating equal opportunities and building a more inclusive environment where every woman in the union can thrive.

The RATTAWU President also celebrated women across different roles within the union, mothers, daughters, colleagues and trailblazers, noting that their courage and determination continue to inspire progress in the media and creative industry.

He urged them to remain steadfast and confident, emphasising that they are valued, powerful and unstoppable.
