Ikpeazu Courts Spanish Investment For Nigeria’s Blue Economy At CONXEMAR 2026

Nigeria is seeking to deepen its economic engagement with Spain by positioning its blue economy and fisheries sectors as new frontiers for investment and trade.

Ambassador of Nigeria to Spain, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD, participated in the opening ceremony of CONXEMAR 2026, the 27th International Frozen Seafood Exhibition, held on Tuesday, 6 October, at the IFEVI Exhibition Centre in Vigo, Galicia, Spain.

The global seafood trade fair brought together senior Spanish government officials, the President of the Xunta de Galicia, Mayor of Vigo, CONXEMAR officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders and key stakeholders in fisheries and aquaculture.

Beyond the opening ceremony, Ambassador Ikpeazu held engagements with CONXEMAR officials and representatives of companies operating in packaging, marine and fisheries-related industries.

The discussions focused on opportunities to attract Spanish investment into Nigeria’s fisheries and wider blue economy, while strengthening commercial ties between both countries.

The Embassy said the engagements form part of its continuing efforts to promote Nigeria as an investment destination and unlock opportunities within the country’s vast blue economy potential.
