Troops Force Kidnappers To Abandon 10 Victims in Katsina
A swift military response has denied kidnappers the chance to disappear with their captives, as troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued 10 civilians, including an infant, in Katsina State.
The victims were rescued on Tuesday after troops responded to intelligence on the abduction of residents from Unguwan Daudu and Unguwan Chibauna communities in Funtua Local Government Area.
Troops deployed around the Sabuwa axis pursued the fleeing terrorists, who came under sustained pressure and abandoned their captives before escaping.
The rescued victims comprised three adult males, six females and an infant.
They are expected to be handed over to the Sabuwa Local Government authorities for medical assessment and support before being reunited with their families.
The operation underscores the value of timely intelligence in disrupting kidnappers’ movements and preventing abducted civilians from being taken deeper into criminal hideouts.
It also reflects the continued military pressure on terrorist and kidnapping networks operating across the North-West.
