Troops Rescue 10 Kidnap Victims Across North-West
Ten kidnapped civilians have been rescued by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in separate operations across Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states, as security forces intensify pressure on terrorist groups in the North-West.
In Sokoto, troops on patrol in Isa Local Government Area on August 19 repelled a terrorist ambush and rescued five civilians, recovering two abandoned motorcycles.
A day earlier in Kebbi, troops acting on intelligence rescued three kidnapped victims in Danko Wasagu LGA and handed them over to local authorities after profiling.
In Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, troops responding to terrorist activity forced the attackers to flee, abandoning two captives.
The victims, who sustained gunshot wounds, were evacuated for medical treatment.
The Theatre Command said operations are continuing to track the fleeing terrorists and urged residents to provide credible information to security agencies.
