IBIE Launches In Nigeria To Boost Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Nigeria’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship has received a fresh boost with the launch of the Institute of Business Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IBIE) in the country.
The institute said its expansion into Nigeria marks a major step in its drive to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, research and business leadership across Africa.
As part of the rollout, Mr Oru Leonard has been appointed Faculty Member and Authorised Representative for Nigeria.
He will lead institutional partnerships, professional training, startup ecosystem development, research initiatives and entrepreneurship programmes nationwide.
IBIE’s academic direction in Nigeria will be led by Mahamud Hasan, the institute’s Lead Faculty, who will oversee curriculum development, international collaboration, faculty coordination and innovation-driven learning.
Speaking on the expansion, Hasan described Nigeria as one of Africa’s fastest-growing innovation ecosystems, saying the institute is committed to building strategic partnerships, empowering innovators and developing future business leaders to drive sustainable economic growth across the continent.
The institute said it plans to work with universities, government agencies, the private sector, startups, SMEs and development partners to deliver executive education, professional certification, business incubation, research and leadership development programmes.
IBIE believes Nigeria will serve as a strategic hub for advancing entrepreneurship education and supporting high-impact startups across West Africa.
