Adamawa Police Arrest 10 Suspects, Recover Stolen Vehicles, Foil Terror Attack In One Week
Effective intelligence gathering and coordinated security operations continue to shape policing efforts in Adamawa State, with the Police Command recording major breakthroughs against violent crime, vehicle theft and pipeline vandalism within a week.
The Adamawa State Police Command said it arrested 10 suspects between 19 and 25 July 2026, recovered two stolen vehicles, dismantled a pipeline vandalism syndicate and repelled a terrorist attack during a series of operations across the state.
According to the Command, a homicide suspect was arrested over the alleged killing of a 30-year-old man in Yola North, while an intelligence-led operation by the State Intelligence Department led to the recovery of a stolen 2016 Toyota Corolla Sport valued at about ₦18 million and the arrest of a 26-year-old suspect in Kano State.
The police also disclosed that operatives of the IGP Special Task Force on Petroleum and Illegal Bunkering, working with the IGP X-Squad, arrested seven suspected pipeline vandals and recovered 285 vandalised NNPC pipelines, six gas cylinders, a J5 bus and other tools used in the illegal operation.
In Hong Local Government Area, a joint security team comprising the Police, the 144 Battalion and the Civilian Joint Task Force successfully repelled a terrorist attack on Garaha Village, recovering one offensive weapon as clearance operations continued.
The Command also intensified crime prevention through its Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), educating students of Government Secondary School, Doubeli, on the dangers of drug abuse, cultism, cybercrime, bullying and other social vices.
Commissioner of Police Kabiru Umar Hassan commended officers for their professionalism and assured residents of the Command’s continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
