Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage is a powerful tool for fostering national unity, promoting inclusion and driving sustainable development, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has said.
Represented by Princess Ginika Nwafor-Orizu at a cultural event, the minister said museums and heritage institutions must remain at the heart of efforts to preserve Nigeria’s history while inspiring future generations.
She stressed that the country’s cultural diversity should be harnessed as a source of strength, noting that preserving and interpreting Nigeria’s heritage would deepen understanding among citizens and promote peaceful coexistence.
According to her, the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy remains committed to supporting initiatives that protect the nation’s cultural assets and promote indigenous traditions through strategic partnerships and innovation.

She noted that protecting Nigeria’s priceless cultural heritage is essential to strengthening the nation’s identity and ensuring that future generations appreciate the country’s history and values.
Musawa also urged stakeholders to sustain collaboration aimed at transforming museums into vibrant centres for education, research, innovation and dialogue.
She said such efforts would not only preserve the nation’s collective memory but also contribute to social cohesion, national development and the overall well-being of Nigerians.
