Army Boosts Operational Readiness, Troop Welfare with New Projects In Edo

Military effectiveness depends not only on battlefield capability but also on strong infrastructure and troop welfare, the Commander Infantry Corps, Major General Godwin Mutkut, has said.
Mutkut spoke during an operational assessment visit to Headquarters 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, in Benin City, where he commissioned several projects designed to strengthen operational efficiency and improve the working environment for personnel.
The projects include a remodelled Brigade Conference Room, new Operations Room, Sick Bay, ultra-modern Fire Point, Quarter Guard, as well as a newly constructed Brigade Mascot and Fountain.
Addressing officers and soldiers, Mutkut commended the Brigade’s proactive security operations across Edo State and praised personnel for their discipline, resilience and professionalism.
He also urged troops to prioritise strong family relationships, noting that a stable home front contributes significantly to effective military service.
The Commander Infantry Corps praised the Commander of 4 Brigade, Brigadier General Ahmed Balogun, for his leadership and investment in infrastructure and troop welfare.
Balog, in response, assured that the Brigade would remain committed to protecting lives and property while maintaining the discipline and operational standards of the Nigerian Army.
