Foreign Affairs Ministry, NLNG Deepen Partnership To Boost Nigeria’s Economic Diplomacy

As global competition for energy investment intensifies, Nigeria is strengthening ties between diplomacy and industry to enhance its economic influence on the world stage.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, , has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to leveraging the energy sector as a key driver of economic diplomacy following talks with the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), Engineer Adeleye Falade, in Abuja.

During the meeting, Falade highlighted NLNG’s growing contribution to the economy and disclosed that the company’s Train 7 expansion project would raise production capacity from 22 million to 30 million tonnes annually, creating jobs, increasing government revenue and strengthening Nigeria’s position in the global liquefied natural gas market.

The Foreign Affairs Minister described NLNG as a strategic national asset whose success demonstrates Nigeria’s capacity to compete globally.

She noted that the company’s operations align with the government’s objectives of attracting investment, expanding trade and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Both parties pledged closer collaboration to advance Nigeria’s economic interests, showcase opportunities in the energy sector and strengthen the country’s competitiveness as a leading investment destination in Africa.
