AIT Backs WINSEC 2026 With Live Broadcast, Nationwide Media Support
As conversations around security increasingly highlight the role of women, the African Independent Television (AIT) has pledged extensive media support for the maiden edition of the Women in Security Summit and Awards (WINSEC) 2026, including live coverage of the awards ceremony.
The commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the National Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim, who also chairs the WINSEC Central Planning Committee, to the management of Daar Communications Plc in Abuja.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AIT, Chief Marcel Anyanyechi, described the initiative as a timely platform that recognises the courage, dedication and sacrifices of women contributing to Nigeria’s security architecture.
He stressed that tackling security challenges requires collaboration among the media, security agencies, government and citizens.
AIT also promised comprehensive news coverage, promotional broadcasts, scroll announcements and technical support to boost awareness and ensure the success of the event.
Scheduled for June 30 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, WINSEC 2026 is themed “Celebrating Courage, Passion, Loyalty, Commitment and Sacrifice of Women in Securing the Nation.”
The summit will bring together stakeholders from the security, media, governance and civil society sectors to advance discussions on national security, gender inclusion and leadership while honouring outstanding contributors to Nigeria’s security and development.
