Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership returns on Wednesday, with Ibom Angels and Edo Queens set for a high-stakes clash that could shape early-season momentum.

Ibom Angels host Edo Queens in a matchday eight fixture at the Uyo Township Stadium, kicking off at 4pm.

The encounter will be played behind closed doors as part of the ongoing three-match NWFL stadium ban.

Buoyed by intense preparations under coach Edwin Okon and motivational backing from the Prince Ukeme Ukpong-led management, Ibom Angels will be keen to build on their last outing, a 2-1 away win over Ekiti Queens on January 21, with goals from Happiness Agboye and Georgeline Wami.

Edo Queens, who have tasted defeat once this season, arrive in Uyo on the back of a home win over Pacesetters Queens of Ibadan, setting the stage for a tightly contested fixture.

Elsewhere, unbeaten Bayelsa Queens put their 100 per cent record on the line away to Heartland Queens in Owerri, second-placed Rivers Angels travel to Abeokuta to face Ekiti Queens, while winless Naija Ratels host Adamawa Queens in Abuja.

As the league resumes, the race for early dominance promises fresh intensity across the grounds.
