FRSC Fires 43 Officers In Crackdown On Desertion, Patrol Misconduct

When trust in uniform is tested, institutions are judged by how firmly they respond.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has sent a clear signal that indiscipline will not be tolerated, disengaging 43 personnel over serious breaches of conduct.

The affected officers include 31 dismissed for desertion, five for scandalous behaviour and seven for patrol-related misconduct.

The decisive action, announced by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, reafffirms the FRSC’s zero-tolerance stance on ethical violations within its ranks.

Mohammed described desertion as a grave violation of service oath in a safety-critical organisation tasked with protecting millions of road users daily.

He added that scandalous behaviour and patrol misconduct undermine public trust and contradict the Corps’ core values of discipline, transparency and service excellence.

The FRSC says it is strengthening internal monitoring and supervision across commands nationwide, while deepening ethical reorientation to build a more professional, accountable workforce.

The Corps also urged motorists to sustain confidence in its mandate of creating safer roads for all Nigerians.
