Nigerian Priest Makes Global List As Faith Group Urged To Live Out Their Beliefs
When faith meets the digital age, influence travels far beyond the pulpit.
That reality came alive in Onitsha as news broke that Rev. Fr. James Anyaegbu of the Aba Diocese has been named among 50 Catholic influencers worldwide selected for a Vatican-backed Holy Land digital missionary retreat.
The priest, Director of the Faith-Chat platform and currently serving in Aberdeen, Scotland, was one of only 15 priests chosen for the pilgrimage, now rescheduled for after Easter due to security concerns.
His selection sparked excitement at the Faithspiration Initiative’s New Year prayer meeting in Anambra State, where clergy also urged members to practise “faith in action” and remain disciplined, intentional and resourceful in their walk with God.
Leaders praised Fr. Anyaegbu’s impact in evangelism through digital platforms, describing the recognition as a timely reminder that modern communication can amplify the Gospel across borders.
