Soludo Welcomes 1,352 NYSC Corps Members, Reaffirms Commitment To Youth Empowerment In Anambra
In a strong signal of Anambra State’s drive to harness youth energy for development, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has assured newly deployed National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members of safety, opportunity and a productive service year in the state.
The governor received the 2026 NYSC Batch ‘A’ (Stream I) corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area, where he congratulated them for answering the call to national service and welcomed them into the Anambra family.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Patrick Agha-Mba, Governor Soludo outlined his administration’s vision of building a liveable and prosperous smart megacity, anchored on skills, innovation and wealth creation.
The governor disclosed that over 23,000 youths have already been empowered with digital skills, while the ongoing One Million Anambra Digital Tribe initiative targets one million youths.
He also noted that 13,300 youths have benefited from skills and grants worth ₦5.5 billion under the 1Youth 2Skills Plus programme.
The governor urged corps members to take full advantage of the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, assuring them of a conducive environment and continued government support throughout their service year.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Pauline Ojisua, expressed appreciation to the state government for its consistent support, revealing that a total of 1,352 corps members, 608 males and 744 females, have been registered.
She assured that the corps members would conduct themselves well and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Anambra State.
