CLO Hails Tony Nwoye As Tobis Road Project Rekindles Hope In Maryland Estate

In communities where poor roads often symbolise neglect and broken promises, the reconstruction of a single street can feel like a powerful statement of effective governance.

The Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Anambra State Branch, has praised Senator Dr Tony Nwoye for constructing the vital Tobis Road in Maryland Estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area.

In a statement released in Awka, the rights group described the project as a life-changing intervention that has improved mobility, safety, and economic activity in the neighbourhood.

According to the CLO, Senator Nwoye’s impact goes beyond roads, citing his empowerment programmes, skills acquisition initiatives, support for indigent students, and poverty alleviation schemes across Anambra North Senatorial District.

The organisation, in a statement jointly signed by Evangelist Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme (Chairman) and Comrade Chidi Mbah (Secretary), hailed the lawmaker as a compassionate and people-centred leader whose political philosophy is rooted in service.

The group also highlighted his past projects, including the 3-3-Nsugbe and 3-3 Brothers of St. Stephen roads, multiple road projects in Onitsha South, and large-scale support to women’s groups and the Catholic Laity Council of Onitsha Archdiocese.

While commending his efforts, the CLO urged other federal and state lawmakers to emulate his example, and appealed to him to extend similar intervention to the dilapidated Trinity Estate Road near Divine Bus Stop, which leads to Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Independent Station.
