Christmas Gridlocks Broken: FRSC Earns National Praise For Grit, Sacrifice and Professionalism
At a time when Nigeria’s highways are traditionally stretched to breaking point, officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) proved that discipline, strategy and sacrifice can still triumph over chaos.
The Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Shehu Mohammed, mni, has commended officers and men of the Corps for what he described as an outstanding and historic performance during the Christmas travel operations across the country.
Speaking to personnel, the Corps Marshal praised their resilience, professionalism and uncommon courage, noting that their strategic interventions were key to clearing major traffic bottlenecks, including the notoriously congested Lokoja corridor and other critical routes nationwide.
According to him, FRSC personnel worked under intense pressure, enduring long hours, harsh weather conditions and heavy vehicular traffic, while maintaining discipline and professionalism, a feat that underscored the Corps’ readiness to safeguard lives even in the most demanding circumstances.
He noted that officers went beyond the call of duty, standing firm at a time many Nigerians needed relief on the roads most.
Their commitment, he said, reaffirmed the Corps’ resolve to ensure safer highways and seamless mobility.
The Corps Marshal also highlighted that the success recorded during the festive period reflected improved coordination, growing operational efficiency and strong leadership across all levels of the Corps.
He particularly acknowledged officers who remained on duty while others celebrated with their families, describing their sacrifice as a true mark of patriotism.
As traffic volume remains high towards the New Year celebrations, Shehu Mohammed urged personnel to sustain the momentum, remain vigilant and continue to uphold the core values of the FRSC, while reassuring Nigerians of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to hitch-free travel nationwide.
The FRSC restated its statutory mandate of reducing road crashes, promoting responsible road use and protecting lives on Nigerian roads.
