FRSC Appoints Bamigbayan As Principal Staff Officer To Corps Marshal
In a move aimed at strengthening strategic coordination at the highest level of its leadership, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has appointed Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Tajudeen Lasun Bamigbayan as the new Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Corps Marshal.
The appointment, approved by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, follows the statutory retirement of Deputy Corps Marshal Meshack Jatau after a distinguished career in service.
According to the FRSC, Bamigbayan’s selection reflects a deliberate focus on competence, integrity and institutional continuity.
A seasoned officer with nearly three decades of service, ACM Bamigbayan joined the Corps in 1996 and has served across key commands and departments nationwide, including Kano, Taraba, Adamawa, Borno and Anambra, as well as at the National Headquarters.
He is widely recognised for his role in strengthening the Corps’ administrative, operational and strategic frameworks.
He is particularly noted for his leadership in the institutionalisation of the FRSC’s Quality Management System, playing a central role in the Corps’ transition to ISO 9001:2015 and its successful recertification in April 2025. His contributions to quality assurance and organisational efficiency have earned him national and international recognition.
An alumnus of the University of Ilorin and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Bamigbayan has also undertaken several local and international trainings in leadership, safety governance and ISO standards.
Describing him as “a tested professional and systems builder,” the Corps Marshal expressed confidence that the new PSO will enhance policy execution and strategic support within the Corps.
He also commended the outgoing PSO, DCM Meshack Jatau, for his meritorious service and contributions to road safety administration in Nigeria.
