DHQ Reels Major Breakthroughs In November Operations Across Theatres.
The question of how much pressure the Armed Forces of Nigeria can sustain as insecurity mutates across regions is quietly echoing across the country.
November’s operational report of the Armed Forces of Nigeria at various operational theatres shows both progress and the weight still carried on the shoulders of Nigeria’s troops.
Giving the monthly report at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, the Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja stood before the press with a message that mixed resolve with urgency.
His words painted a picture of troops fighting on multiple fronts, from the forests of Zamfara to the riverways of Bayelsa, and slowly reclaiming spaces once dominated by terror.
According to him, in Borno’s Mafa, Ngala axis, a coordinated ground and air assault scattered a Boko Haram cell that had long terrorised remote communities.
Villagers who had lived in fear for months watched soldiers dismantle camps, recover weapons, and lead the rescued out, dust-stained, exhausted, but alive.
General Onoja, assured Nigerians that in November alone, several terrorists and extremists were neutralised, over 69 fighters and family members surrendered, 318 kidnapped victims were rescued, and oil theft worth N217.6 million was foiled.
He said sixteen illegal refining sites were dismantled, dozens of criminals arrested, and weapons, vehicles, livestock, and explosives recovered across multiple states and troops are gearing to do more.
